L'Assam è una varietà veramente interessante, la pianta ha un portamento a cespuglio molto bello da vedersi, i frutti si prestano alla conservazione sott'aceto grazie anche alla parete non molto sottile. Purtroppo questa varietà richiede tempi lunghi per lo sviluppo e la maturazione e non sopporta le temperature alte.
